Griffith Park 11/21/09

We had a good turnout for the Griffith Park hike on Saturday. The hike started at the observatory on top of the hill, affording views of LA and the famous Hollywood sign. All dogs and people had a great time!

Saddle Peak Hike - Sept 6

There were some great views on this hike! We hiked pretty high up considering we didn't actually make it to the end of the hike since we turned around because it was SUPER HOT. Note to self: next time we try to go back and finish this Saddle Peak Hike, make sure its cooler in temperature, perhaps overcast, and make sure to have enough water to last the entire hike... AND maybe some of Amanda's trail mix.

Check out some of our photos from the hike below. It got so hot at one point, that JUSTIN even offered to CARRY Vicky for a little bit on his back!! Talk about chivalry!! Vinh and I were totally next in line for that piggy back ride! haha... Too bad Justin's hours of operation ended before we got our rides! haha... just kidding...

OK! Here are our photos!

OK ok so we didn't actually have to climb a mountain during this hike, haha, but it looked like it, didn't it?! We just angled those shots on the side of the cliff to get everyone to think we were on this great adventure, but it was all just normal hiking and walking :) OK that's all, see you all on the trails!

Sandstone Peak 4-19-2008

Sandstone Peak was a most spectacular hike. It was somewhat foggy, but we caught glimpses of the beautiful sandstone cliffs, mountain waterways, and multi-colored wildflowers all along the trail. It was almost a perfect day, if only Melanie could have bought her concert tickets. After what seemed like many many miles of unending uphill climb (in reality, it was only 1.5 mi), we celebrated our great accomplishment by enjoying lunch at the base of Sandstone Peak.

Switzer Falls 3-1-2008

On a cold and foggy morning, seven hikers and two dogs ventured into the Angeles Forest to explore Switzer Falls.

Four hours later we had:

- scaled mountains

- "crossed" rivers

- eaten our delicious self-packed lunches

- worked off our lunches and then some

- and discovered two spectacular waterfalls
